Pre-Review Submissions

WiPSCE offers a pre-review submission option. Authors who wish to get feedback and advice on their work prior to the actual submission to the conference are invited to submit a structured extended abstract of their work. Each submission will be read and commented on by at least two of the WiPSCE program committee members. In this way, we intend to help authors by providing feedback that can still be considered for the papers that are to be submitted for the conference.

This option is voluntary: everyone may use it, nobody must; authors, who make use of this opportunity are not favoured in the actual review process, a recommendation by the PC members is no guarantee that the paper will be accepted.

Submit your pre-review submission at https://conf.wipsce.org.

Since last year, we are using the HotCRP system for submission: we have developed some guidelines for you if you are unfamilar with this system.

Submission Guidelines

We invite structured extended abstracts for all WiPSCE submission categories (see Submissions for details).

The abstracts should comply with the following structure:

Important Dates

  • Pre-Review Submission Deadline
    all submission categories
    March 10, 2024
  • Pre-Review Submission Feedback
    all submission categories
    March 25, 2024

All dates are midnight "anywhere on earth".

Submission Format

Submissions are required to follow the style format outlined on the ACM SIG proceedings website for LaTex Authors. The review process will be dual anonymous, so authors are requested not to include their names and affiliations when submitting and to cite their prior work appropriately.

Submission must not exceed two pages (references excluded).

In your LaTex file, please use the following documentclass for your submission: "\documentclass[authorversion,anonymous,review]{acmart}". A template can be downloaded here: Download Pre-Review Abstracts Template.

It is mandatory to submit a PDF-file through https://conf.wipsce.org. Please see the Important Dates section for submission and notification deadlines.

Feedback Process

To ensure that authors receive high quality feedback, all submissions are read by at least two members of the international program committee. The feedback process is dual anonymous - it is in the responsibility of the authors to make sure that their submission is appropriately anonymized.

Detailed feedback will be provided including recommendations on how to improve the paper where applicable. The feedback will be provided as soon as it is completed, but at least four weeks before the conference's submission deadline so that authors have sufficient time to consider the feedback they receive for their papers. Please be aware, that receiving positive feedback is no guarantee that the paper will be accepted. Authors who make use of this opportunity are not favoured in the actual review process.
