Tuesday Accompanying Events
WiPSCE 2027 will be accompanied by optional pre-conference events on Tuesday.
For participants who are able to arrive a little earlier, we are offering a free events on Tuesday, February 2nd. Each event event has a maximum capacity as written in the registration system. Please select the event you would like to attend when registering for WiPSCE. Each event is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The pre-conferece events will take place at the same place as the conference.
- Workshop 1 : Data Science Unplugged (and Plugged
In). At what age can we start teaching about data science and
artificial intelligence? What about first grade? We tried and
children loved it. And then we used the exact same material for
teaching managers, who liked it, too.
How does it fit into curricula? Perfectly, actually. Discovering patterns in data can fit — and actually enrich — any school subject. What about discovering climate zones of southern Asia (instead of just "presenting" them, as is usually done) and learning about clustering at the same time? Discussing our favorite books and at the same time realize how video sites recommend videos and online stores recommend products based on our previous views and purchases? Trying to win rock-paper-scissors to get a basic understanding of how large language models produce text?
In this very hands-on workshop, we will explore (and use) the material (https://gairdin.eu) to teach data science and AI with and without computers.

- Colloquium for Doctoral Students.
The colloquium is intended for doctoral students and advanced master's
students in computer science education. It provides an
opportunity to meet international peers, briefly present their research,
and discuss current challenges and open questions.
The event will be held in English and participation is free of charge. Registration is required, but participation in WiPSCE 2027 is not necessary.
